Year 1- Learning from Home

In Year 1 children can be expected to work for 20-30 minutes at a time during the day.  This would include discussing what your child already knows from learning in school on the topic, then they can complete an activity related to this for 10-20 minutes, followed by a break.  Children need a break or free time between each learning session to ensure you get the best out of your child and maximise their learning.  Teachers would like to remind you that learning is not limited to sitting at a table and writing or completing maths problems.  There are many things children can do at home to help with their learning – we have included a range of these within our ‘Learning at Home booklet’.

We will be able to answer any questions you have about the work on the website or about your child’s learning via the email below.

If you would like to share/attach photos of some of the learning you have been doing, please do so and state if you are happy for them to go on the school website.

Teachers aim to look at the emails twice a week at 10.00 am Monday and Thursday and will aim to reply within 24 hours.
